Back Home 2 Director Alis Locantaâs âBack Home 2â is a sequel, by definition, but it diverges from the original film in ways both significant and subtle. The most immediately obvious difference is that âBack Homeâ was a lesbian love story, and the followup involves a woman and a man. But apart from the differences in plumbing, âBack Home 2â is a cheerful, upbeat âtwo hearts storyâ the sequelâs subtitle, while there was an undercurrent of heartbreak, emotional hurt, and romantic fragility in the original.
